Every word we speak in life can either build or destroy a life. Words are like seeds; they can produce a good harvest in a person’s life or a bad harvest. Many people are struggling with their lives today because of words that have been spoken over their lives or they have spoken over themselves. Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. Jabez was honourable above his brothers. The name Jabez means "sorrow". His mother bore him in pain. I am sure Jabez lived most of his life being hurt; and therefore prayed asking God’s hands and blessing to be with him. God granted him his request (1 Chronicles 4:9-10). Also Rachel, when she realized she was dying from birth named her baby Ben-oni meaning “son of sorrow”. However, Jacob the father of the baby changed the name Ben-oni to Benjamin meaning “Son of The Right Hand” meaning “Son of Strength” (Genesis 35:17-18). Jacob did not want his son to live his life in sorrow and in pain. We need to speak positive and encouraging words over our children, friends, wives, husbands, and everyone. We need to bless and build up confidence in one another. Let us learn to speak good words to produce good harvest in one another’s life and not negative words to destroy. God loves you and God bless you.
