Doing Good
Many of us have been showing kindness in divers’ ways and we are not praised or applaud for doing that. Can you imagine helping your superior who is going through crises and not rewarded for your help. Mordecai and his people were living in captivity under the Persian rule in Shushan. Mordecai saved the king’s life, but receives no thanks, recognition, or reward. However, Mordecai did not get to feel any resentment but continued to give help and support (see Esther 2:21-23). Every time we have given to the poor, show our affection to others, submitted to authority, each act of these kindnesses we have done are recorded in God’s book, and at His appointed time, He will reward us. When Haman, the enemy of the Jews was out to destroy them, God intervened and made the king to remember Mordecai’s kindness; and every blessing that Haman planned for himself were transferred to Mordecai (see Esther 6:1-14). If you have been treated unjustly so that you are full of distrust and anger be assured that God knows and a day will come when He will be reward you for your good deeds. As written in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” God bless you.
