David had to flee from King Saul when he was living in Ziklag and had to live with the Philistines.  The Philistines were preparing a battle against King Saul, David and his men had to join the Philistines. The Philistines did not trust David and therefore sent him and his men back to Ziklag. On returning back to Ziklag, David and his men found that the Amalekites have attacked and burned the town Ziklag. They have kidnapped all the women and children. David was distressed; his men became discouraged and were ready to kill him for all that has happened. “But David strengthened himself in the Lord” (1 Samuel 30:6). David recovered everything the Amalekites had kidnapped. David put his trust in the Lord by seeking His face and therefore received strength to deal with the problem they had. God is our Strength, our Rock and our Fortress and we can trust Him to take care of us in all the problems we face in life. He is mighty to uphold and to make us stand when we fall or fail. His strength is available to us as we trust and believe in His promises; the Bible. Be strong in the Lord.
